Shade Plants for North Florida Gardens
Looking for plants that can handle shady spots in your yard? Our Shade Plants collection includes beautiful options for areas that receive morning sun, filtered light, dappled shade, or protection from the hot afternoon sun.
Shade plants are a great choice for planting under trees, along porches, near patios, on the north or east side of the house, or in landscape beds where full-sun plants may struggle. Many shade-loving plants offer attractive foliage, seasonal flowers, texture, and color without needing all-day direct sun.
At Advanced Nursery Growers, we choose shade plants that are well suited for North Florida, the Florida Panhandle, South Alabama, and warm Southern landscapes. Availability may include plants such as camellias, azaleas, gardenias, hydrangeas, ferns, hostas, cast iron plants, fatsia, mahonia, and other shade-friendly shrubs, perennials, and landscape plants.
Please keep in mind that “shade” can mean different things. Some plants prefer full shade, while others do best with morning sun and afternoon shade. If you are not sure what will work best in your yard, we are happy to help you choose the right plant for your light conditions.
Local pickup is available at our nursery in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Wholesale availability may also be available for qualified landscapers and nurseries.
