Growing Peach Trees in North Florida

Peach trees need full sun, good air circulation, and well-drained soil. Avoid planting in low areas where cold air and water can collect. Most peach trees are self-fertile and can produce fruit without another variety nearby, although planting more than one peach tree may improve pollination and fruit production.

Regular pruning helps keep peach trees at a manageable size and encourages healthy new growth. Fruit thinning may also be necessary to produce larger peaches and prevent branches from becoming overloaded.
