We carry avocado varieties when available, including Brogdon, Bacon, Mexicola, Lila, Joey, Wurtz/Little Cado, Oro Negro, Super Hass, and other avocado trees suited for warm-climate growing.
Avocado trees grow best in full sun with well-drained soil and protection from hard freezes. In North Florida, avocados should be planted in the warmest protected area possible, such as near a south-facing wall, structure, fence, or other protected microclimate. Young avocado trees may need cold protection during freezing weather.
Some avocado varieties are more cold-tolerant than others, but fruit production can vary depending on winter temperatures, tree age, pollination, and growing conditions. Avocados may also be grown in large containers so they can be protected during cold snaps.
Our avocado trees are available for local pickup only at our nursery. We do not ship avocado trees at this time.
