The root systems on most plants need to breathe. When you over water you can smoother the roots and cause the plant to die. Scratch beside the plant about 1 to 3 inches and see if there is moisture in the ground, if so, then they should be ok. After your plants get established ,in most cases , you should only have to water thoroughly once a week.
