Swamp Chestnut Oak grows naturally in North Florida lowlands and floodplains. Its large acorns are eaten by deer, squirrels, and other wildlife, making it a strong choice for a large property or habitat planting. Despite its name, this tree should be planted where the soil can drain between wet periods, rather than in a spot that stays flooded continuously.
