Wonderful Pomegranate is the classic pomegranate variety known for its large, attractive red fruit filled with richly colored, juicy arils. The fruit has the traditional sweet-tart pomegranate flavor that is excellent for fresh eating, juicing, salads, desserts, sauces, and preserves.

Wonderful is also an attractive edible landscape plant. Bright orange-red flowers appear against glossy green foliage, followed by colorful fruit later in the growing season. Plants naturally develop as multi-stemmed shrubs but can also be trained and pruned into small fruit trees.

North Florida Growing Note: Wonderful can be grown in North Florida, but it is a later-ripening pomegranate. Florida's hot, humid and rainy late-season weather can reduce fruit quality and increase disease pressure on late-ripening cultivars such as Wonderful. For best results, plant in full sun with excellent drainage and good air circulation. Customers primarily interested in dependable North Florida fruit production may also want to consider earlier-ripening pomegranate varieties.
