Parfianka Pomegranate is an outstanding eating variety prized for its excellent balance of sweetness and tartness, dark red arils, and unusually soft seeds. The medium-to-large fruit develops an attractive red rind and is filled with juicy, richly colored arils that are excellent for eating fresh, juicing, salads, desserts, and preserves.

Parfianka originated from Turkmenistan and has earned an excellent reputation in pomegranate taste evaluations. University of Florida trial information describes the fruit as sweet-tart with medium-to-large dark red arils, very soft seeds, and an excellent flavor balance. Its soft seeds make it especially enjoyable for customers who prefer pomegranates for fresh eating.

The plant naturally develops into a multi-stemmed shrub or small tree and also provides ornamental value with glossy foliage, bright orange-red flowers, and colorful fruit.

North Florida Growing Note: Parfianka can be grown in Florida and has been included in University of Florida pomegranate evaluations. However, Florida's warm, humid conditions can increase disease pressure. UF/IFAS trials have rated Parfianka as susceptible to anthracnose fruit rot, so good air circulation, full sun, sanitation, and careful water management are especially important in North Florida and the Florida Panhandle.
