Jiro- considered to be one of the most cold-hardy non-astringent persimmons.Many sources suggest Jiro can tolerate brief lows near ~0 °F (-18 °C) under the right conditions The fruit is large, 4-lobed, slightly flattened and a beautiful orange-red color. Trees are more upright compared to the other Jiro types and have a fall foliage color. Fruit ripens mid-October to mid-November.  Self-pollinating. If you were only going to have 1 persimmon tree, this is the one you want!  It is s self pollinated heavy producer, but will produce larger fruit with a MAEKAWA JIRO planted nearby. Since Jiro doesn’t need to soften fully to taste good, you usually harvest when the fruit is fully colored (orange) and sized, even if still firm
