AMERICAN PERSIMMON , diospyros Virginia, a native plant, very tasty small fruits. Makes a great root stock for the Asian Persimmons. Persimmon. Diospyros virginianus (species),  Ornamental landscape tree that produces an edible food crop. This native to the eastern United States is dioecious, so both male and female plants are needed to obtain fruit–plant several. Fruit ripens in September and becomes sweet and may be eaten off the tree.

      Source of food for many types of birds and mammals.
·      Moderate growth rate

·      Female trees need a male pollinator in order to set fruit

·      Larval host: Hickory Horned Devil (Royal Walnut Moth), Luna Moth

We only ship to the continental USA no shipping to California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Our plants ship bare root or with minimal soil in a bag.  5 gallon pots or larger they must be picked up at the nursery ( or call for special shipping arrangements to see if we can ship to you ).
