Hydrangea paniculata ‘Tardiva’
Sometimes listed as Hydrangea paniculata grandiflora ‘Tardiva’ or just Tardiva panicle hydrangea.

It is a late-blooming panicle hydrangea with large, airy white flower clusters that can age to pinkish as the season goes on.

Main traits

  • Type: Deciduous flowering shrub
  • Bloom time: Late summer into fall
  • Flower color: White, often aging blush-pink
  • Sun: Full sun to part sun
  • Water: Likes regular water while getting established
  • Soil: Well-drained soil
  • Height: Usually about 8–12 ft tall
  • Width: About 6–10 ft wide
  • Cold hardy: Very hardy; does well in much colder areas than many hydrangeas

Good points

  • Blooms later than many other hydrangeas
  • Can handle more sun than bigleaf hydrangeas
  • Good as a specimen, screen, or in the back of a shrub border
  • Flower heads are nice for cut flowers and drying

For North Florida
It can grow, but in hotter areas it usually does best with:

  • Morning sun / afternoon relief
  • mulch
  • steady moisture during hot weather

It is generally grown more for its large shrub size and late blooms than for compact landscaping.
