Buy Sanguinelli Blood Orange Trees for sale at Advanced Nursery Growers in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
Sanguinelli Blood Orange is a distinctive Spanish blood orange prized for its juicy flesh, rich sweet-tart flavor, and beautiful red pigmentation. The fruit develops orange to reddish skin with flesh that may range from streaked red to a much deeper blood-red color as it matures.
Sanguinelli is considered a late-midseason blood orange and produces smaller to medium-sized fruit with few or no seeds. The tree itself is naturally small to medium in size, spineless, productive, and well suited to home citrus plantings where a unique fresh-eating and juicing orange is desired.
One of the most interesting features of Sanguinelli is that cool winter temperatures encourage the development of its red color. Fruit coloration can vary from year to year depending on temperatures during ripening. The cooler winter nights of North Florida may help encourage pigmentation, although the tree itself must be protected during significant freezes.
Sanguinelli oranges are excellent for fresh eating, juicing, fruit salads, desserts, and specialty drinks. Their unusual coloring also makes them an attractive choice for gardeners who want something different from a traditional sweet orange.

North Florida Growing Note:
Sanguinelli can produce fruit in Florida, but it is not one of the most cold-hardy citrus choices for the Florida Panhandle. In DeFuniak Springs and surrounding Zone 8b areas, plant it in a warm, protected location away from low spots where cold air settles. Protect the tree during freezes, especially while young. A cold-hardy citrus rootstock can also improve its chances of success.
