Buy Callaway Crabapple trees for sale at Advanced Nursery Growers in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Callaway Crabapple is an excellent Southern-adapted flowering and fruiting crabapple valued for its beautiful spring bloom, attractive red fruit, disease resistance, and wildlife benefits. UF/IFAS considers Callaway one of the best crabapples for the South, making it an especially interesting choice for landscapes and orchards in North Florida and the surrounding Gulf Coast region.

In spring, attractive pink flower buds open to masses of white blossoms, creating a beautiful display while providing an early food source for bees and other pollinating insects. The tree develops relatively large reddish crabapples, approximately 1 inch in diameter. UGA describes Callaway as a rounded tree reaching approximately 15–20 feet tall and wide.

The fruit adds colorful fall and winter interest and is also valuable to wildlife. Callaway fruit can remain on the tree into winter, where birds and other wildlife may feed on it.

Callaway is an especially useful choice for homeowners who want a tree that combines ornamental beauty, pollinator value, wildlife benefits, and crabapple fruit. It works well in home orchards, edible landscapes, pollinator gardens, wildlife plantings, cottage gardens, and as a small specimen tree.

Because Callaway is a diploid crabapple, it produces viable pollen and may also help pollinate compatible apple varieties when their flowering periods overlap. As with any apple pollination combination, bloom overlap is important, so it should not be considered a guaranteed pollinator for every apple variety.

UF/IFAS specifically identifies Callaway as one of the best crabapples for the South, and its reported disease resistance is an advantage in our warm, humid climate.

Pollination Note: Callaway is a diploid crabapple and may be useful as a pollen source for compatible apple trees that bloom at the same time. For the most dependable apple production, choose pollination partners based on overlapping bloom periods.
