Allegheny Chinquapin is a native fruiting tree or large shrub prized for its small, sweet, edible nuts and outstanding wildlife value. Creamy-white flowers appear in spring, followed by golden, spiny burs containing flavorful nuts. The nuts attract deer, squirrels, turkeys, and other wildlife.
