EASTERN REDBUD TREE NATIVE

NATIVE  American Eastern Redbud Cercis canadensis  NATIVE Trees in yards and in the wild.  Redbud is an understory tree that grows 20-30 tall and to a similar width. It is noted for its stunning purple flowers  and heart shaped leaves which bloom in early spring before the leaves appear. It is native to eastern and central North America from Florida to Canada. A must-have ornamental beauty which has bright yellow leaves in the fall.  The flowers bloom and cover the twigs, before the leaves, in the spring. The flowers are also edible and can be eaten as a salad or fried. These trees are a valuable ornamental species.
