Add a touch of coastal Florida to your landscape with Railroad Vine. This native, sun-loving groundcover features leathery green leaves and pink to lavender flowers. It spreads across sandy soil with long, trailing stems, making it useful for open coastal areas and sunny slopes. Give it plenty of room, because it grows quickly and can cover nearby low-growing plants.

North Florida Growing Note
Railroad Vine is native to Florida’s coastal areas, but UF/IFAS lists it for USDA Zones 9A–12. It may be damaged by winter cold in DeFuniak Springs, so plant it in a warm, sunny, well-drained location and expect possible winter dieback. It spreads aggressively; give it room and trim it back to keep it in bounds.
