 MATSUMOTO Persimmon  is also known as Matsumoto Wase-Fuyu. This delicious persimmon is slightly rounder and larger than the Fuyu. It is non-astringent and ripens slightly earlier, around late September to October. Ripens 2 weeks earlier than the Fuyu persimmon and is an excellent variety for both commercial and backyard production.

Non-Astringent

Self-fertile. (Persimmons can be planted with just one variety but you will increase fruit yields by planting two different varieties.)  Begins producing fruit at 3 years

Persimmon trees thrive in full sun and partial shade especially in the afternoon when it is so hot.

Persimmons have a deep tap root.

Plant at least 12 ft from a building.

Spacing between plants 10 to 20 ft. for an orchard.

Height: 12 to 15 ft

Width: 8 to 10 ft

Fertilize 3 times per year. Late February/Early March in zone 8 with the last application being not later than August.
