Jiro Persimmon (Diospyros kaki ‘Jiro’) is a highly regarded non-astringent Japanese persimmon recommended for North Florida. It produces attractive medium-to-large orange fruit with sweet, mild flavor and firm, crisp flesh.

Unlike astringent persimmons, Jiro fruit can be eaten while it is still firm and crunchy, much like an apple. The fruit may also be left to soften for a richer, juicier texture.
