Diospyros kaki ‘Great Wall’

Great Wall Persimmon is a cold-hardy Asian persimmon known for its dependable production, beautiful fall color, and sweet orange fruit. This variety is considered astringent, meaning the fruit should be allowed to fully soften before eating. Once ripe, the flavor is rich, sweet, and excellent for fresh eating, baking, drying, or making persimmon pulp.

Great Wall is a good choice for North Florida growers because it handles heat well and has better cold tolerance than many Asian persimmons.
