– Sold OutJumbo Muscadine is known for producing exceptionally large, juicy fruit that ripens dark purple to nearly black. The fruit has a mild, sweet-tart muscadine flavor and traditional thick skin. Its impressive size and classic muscadine character make it a good choice for backyard growers who enjoy fresh muscadines picked directly from the vine.
This vigorous Southern fruiting vine is well suited to the heat and humidity of North Florida, the Florida Panhandle, South Alabama, and the Gulf Coast.
Important Pollination Information
Jumbo is a female-flowered muscadine and is not self-fertile. It must be planted near a self-fertile muscadine variety to produce fruit.
Good pollinator choices from our muscadine selection include:
• Cowart
• Carlos
• Nesbitt
• Triumph
• Lane
A bronze or black self-fertile muscadine can pollinate Jumbo. Fruit color does not affect pollination.
Jumbo cannot pollinate another female variety such as Scuppernong, Scarlett, or Fry.

North Florida Growing Note
Plant Jumbo Muscadine in a sunny, well-drained location with plenty of room for a strong permanent trellis. Avoid low areas where water remains after heavy rain.
Muscadines benefit from annual pruning while dormant, generally during February or early March in North Florida. Regular pruning keeps the vine manageable and encourages dependable fruit production.
