The Gulfking Peach is a low-chill peach developed for the southeastern United States and is an excellent choice for North Florida and other mild-winter areas. Gulfking produces attractive, flavorful peaches with yellow flesh and a bright red blush. The fruit is firm with good eating quality and ripens early in the peach season.
Gulfking is especially valuable for Gulf Coast growers because of its relatively low chill requirement. It is self-fertile, so only one tree is needed for fruit production.

North Florida Growing Note
Gulfking is a particularly good peach for the Florida Panhandle because it was developed for mild-winter production in the southeastern United States. Its approximately 350-hour chill requirement makes it much better adapted to our climate than many traditional high-chill peach varieties.
For best production, plant Gulfking in full sun with excellent drainage and good air circulation. Peaches do not tolerate consistently wet roots.
