Goji Berry (Lycium barbarum)
The Goji Berry produces bright red berries with a tart, slightly sweet flavor that many people enjoy fresh, dried, or added to smoothies and recipes. These berries are well known for being rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and nutrients, making them a popular “superfruit.”
Goji plants are vigorous growers that perform best in full sun and well-drained soil. They do not require a pollinator, so a single plant will produce fruit. Plants typically grow 8–10 feet tall and benefit from a trellis, fence, or support as they mature.
Goji berries are also a great choice for home gardens, edible landscapes, or small orchards. The plants are hardy, adaptable, and can begin producing fruit within a few years after planting.
