George Taber Azalea is one of the most popular Southern azaleas—especially here in the Florida Panhandle and Alabama. It’s known for its large, soft pink blooms and dependable performance in heat and humidity.

🌸 Key Features

• Bloom Color: Light pink with darker pink freckles in the throat

• Bloom Time: Early to mid-spring (often March–April in our area)

• Size: 6–10 ft tall × 6–10 ft wide (can be pruned smaller)

• Growth Rate: Moderate to fast

• Evergreen: Yes

• Sun Needs: Part shade (morning sun, afternoon shade is ideal)

• Cold Hardy: Down to about 10–15°F (great for Zone 8B/9)
