The Santa Rosa Plum is a proven classic for home orchards — combining ornamental spring blossoms with abundant harvests of some of the best-tasting plums you can grow.It is one of the most famous and best-loved Japanese plum varieties, prized for its beauty, productivity, and outstanding flavor. The fruit is medium to large, round, with rich red to ,purple skin that may have a natural bluish bloom. Inside, the golden-yellow flesh is streaked with red tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor.
This plum has a delicious balance of sweet and tart, starting with a tangy zest near the skin that melts into a rich, honey-like sweetness toward the pit. Its complex flavor has made Santa Rosa one of the most popular plums for fresh eating, and it is equally excellent for baking, preserves, sauces, and juices.
The tree itself is vigorous and highly productive, producing a heavy crop of fruit in mid-season. Each spring, it is covered in fragrant white blossoms that add ornamental beauty to the landscape and attract pollinators.
