Buy Natchez Crape Myrtle trees for sale at Advanced Nursery Growers in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Natchez Crape Myrtle is a vigorous, fast-growing flowering tree celebrated for its large clusters of pure white flowers, graceful spreading canopy, and beautiful cinnamon-colored bark. Its abundant blossoms appear from midsummer into fall, creating an elegant display while attracting butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators.

As the tree matures, its smooth outer bark peels away to reveal attractive shades of cinnamon-brown, cream, and tan. Natchez also offers glossy green summer foliage followed by shades of orange and red in fall. Its heat tolerance and excellent resistance to powdery mildew make it a dependable choice for North Florida, the Florida Panhandle, the Gulf Coast, and South Alabama.

Plant Details:

  • Plant Type: Deciduous flowering tree
  • Botanical Name: Lagerstroemia × ‘Natchez’
  • Mature Size: Approximately 20–30 feet tall and 20–30 feet wide
  • Growth Rate: Fast
  • Flower Color: Pure white
  • Bloom Time: Midsummer through early fall
  • Sun: Full sun
  • USDA Zones: 7–9
  • Soil: Adaptable to clay, loam, or sandy soil with good drainage
  • Water: Water regularly while establishing; drought-tolerant once established
  • Fall Interest: Glossy green foliage develops orange-to-red fall color
  • Special Features: Long bloom season, attractive exfoliating bark, heat tolerance, and excellent powdery mildew resistance
  • Landscape Uses: Flowering shade tree, specimen tree, street tree, driveway planting, commercial landscape, pollinator garden, or large flowering accent

Because Natchez develops a broad, spreading canopy, plant it where it has plenty of room to reach its mature size. Avoid planting directly beneath power lines or too close to buildings. Light structural pruning may be performed during winter or early spring, but severe topping—often called “crape murder”—should be avoided.
