Tractor Seat Plant (Farfugium japonicum), also known as Leopard Plant, is a bold shade-loving perennial prized for its large, glossy, rounded leaves. The dramatic foliage gives shaded gardens a lush, tropical appearance and makes this plant an excellent choice for areas where many flowering plants struggle. UF/IFAS recommends Farfugium for USDA Zones 7–10 and notes that it performs well throughout Florida.

In fall, Tractor Seat Plant produces clusters of cheerful yellow, daisy-like flowers held above the foliage. It grows best in partial shade with regular moisture and is especially attractive in shaded borders, woodland gardens, mass plantings, around patios, or in large containers. Too much direct sun can scorch the foliage, so afternoon shade is especially beneficial in North Florida.
