Texas Scarlet Flower Quince, Chaenomeles ‘Texas Scarlet’ is noted for its bright red flowers and compact shape. It usually grows to 3-4’ tall and to 4-5’ wide. Chaenomeles × superba is a hybrid flowering quince resulting from the cross between C. japonica and C. speciosa. Fruit is edible but bitter and may beused for jams and jellys. Full sun to part shade and plants bloom on old growth.
