Chester Blackberry Rubus fruiticosus 'Chester' )is a great all around good thorn less blackberry with a large berry. This berry is easy to grow and has its berries in July. The Chester is a great choice for growing in the heat of the southern USA. The berries are firm and sweet. Chester is the most winter hardy of the thornless varieties. Chester is most resistant to caneblight caused by Botryosphaeria dothidea. The fruitdoes not soften or leak color on hot sunny days.
They are disease resistant , firm a wonderful addition to any edible landscape. The Chester is self pollinating.
